Privacy policy
The most important thing in this policy is what is absent from it. ZarCash does not accept loan applications and does not collect the information a loan application would require — no name, no phone number, no email address, no South African ID number, no bank details, no employer, no income figures and no documents.
There is no application form on this site
ZarCash does not ask for your personal details anywhere. There is no form to submit, no lead to sell, and no borrower database. When you follow a link to a provider you leave this site, and from that point the provider’s own privacy policy governs what it collects and how it uses it. Read it before you enter anything.
What we do collect
Analytics data about how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location at country or city level, device and browser type, and which page referred you. This is used to understand which pages are useful and where the site is failing people. It is not used to identify you and is not combined with anything that could.
Interaction events on the site itself: which calculators are used, which comparisons are opened, and which commercial links are followed. These carry the page and placement, never anything about you personally — there is nothing personal to carry.
Nothing is stored in your browser beyond what is needed for the page to work and for the preferences you set on it.
Your rights under POPIA
The Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to know what personal information an organisation holds about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to object to processing, and to complain to the Information Regulator.
Because we do not collect information that identifies you, most of these rights have little to attach to here — but the right to complain to the Information Regulator applies regardless, and the contact details are on its website.
When you leave this site for a credit provider, that provider becomes responsible for your information. Check specifically what you are consenting to about sharing your details with third parties: a single tick-box is how one application becomes months of calls from lenders you never approached.
Third parties
We use a web analytics service to understand site usage. It processes the analytics data described above on our behalf.
Outbound links to credit providers may carry a tracking parameter identifying that the visit came from ZarCash. This tells the provider which website referred the visit; it does not tell them anything about you that you have not given them yourself.
